    Emergency Response Operations release notes

    ServiceNow® Emergency Response Operations is a new application in the New York release.

    Emergency Response Operations was originally developed to monitor and aid in stopping the community spread of COVID-19 among employees. It is part of the suite of ServiceNow® Emergency Response Management applications built on the Now Platform® to assist companies in their emergency response efforts. Use it with these other Emergency Response Management applications:
    • Emergency Exposure Management
    • Emergency Outreach
    • Emergency Self Report
    Important: Emergency Response Operations is available in the ServiceNow Store. For details, see the "Activation information" section of these release notes.

    Emergency Response Operations features

    Create an emergency incident
    Use an emergency incident to coordinate your response to an emergency. Designate which positions are needed at specific locations, and or create custom positions to match your situation if needed.
    Assign and track field resources for an emergency
    Assign, request, and track resources for specific dates and locations in the Incident Management Team portal. Resources can be assigned directly, or you can request resources from deputies. Deputies can also use the IMT portal to assign resources according to staffing needs and specific skills.

    Activation information

    Install Emergency Response Operations by requesting it from the ServiceNow Store. Visit the ServiceNow Store website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store.

    Federal customers using IL4 or FedRAMP environments will see the apps ready and available to install on their instances without having to make any special requests. Customers are responsible for configuring the apps to meet US federal regulations and guidelines. FedRamp IL4 and FedRamp Mod/L2 customers will need to configure the Emergency Outreach application to use email only instead of email and Now® Mobile notifications.
    Note: The Emergency Outreach application has an optional mobile push capability that cannot be used by a US federal customer in the FedMod or FedRamp/IL4 (GCC) environment at this time. They will still be able to use the app with email as a primary means of reaching their employees. These customers also cannot use the Emergency Response Management for Now Mobile app.

    Safe Workplace for mobile
    The ServiceNow® Safe Workplace mobile experience enables organizations to manage the essential steps for returning users to the workplace from anywhere with the Now Mobile app. With an intuitive mobile design and user-friendly interface, organizations can deliver a seamless return to workplace experience, enabling users to complete health screenings and surveys, set up visits, make reservations, request PPE, and more to support their health and safety.
    Emergency Outreach
    Notify users of important information about anticipated or occurring emergency situations. Send an outreach notification via email, mobile push message, or SMS message to request a user response. You can also configure other preferred communication channels.
    Emergency Self Report
    During a crisis, the ServiceNow® Emergency Self Report application gives users a way to notify their organization of their health status. It also provides a workflow for qualified users to safely return to work. Managers and response teams can track user reporting.
    Emergency Exposure Management
    The ServiceNow® Emergency Exposure Management application helps identify users who might have been exposed to infectious diseases by analyzing multiple data sources such as meetings, location, shifts, Wi-Fi access logs, and badge scans of affected users.

    All decisions in connection with the implementation of this application are at the sole decision of the Organization utilizing this application. Organizations agree that use of the application is not a representation by ServiceNow regarding the application’s compliance with any law or regulation and any suggested language provided out of the box with the application does not constitute legal advice by ServiceNow.

    Organizations remain solely responsible for complying with their legal obligations under applicable law, including (but not limited to) data protection and employment laws, and should modify any language within the templates provided to meet the Organizations’ specific requirements.

    Notice regarding use by government agencies

    ServiceNow is offering this application to government agencies and their authorized users, not to employees of government agencies in their individual capacities. Use of this application is being offered free of charge for a limited or extended time period and with no expectation of payment from the government agency to ServiceNow for use during that time period, nor does usage create an actual or implied future obligation on behalf of the government.
