Roles for Cloud Insights users

You assign Cloud Insights roles to user groups and to individual users based on user activities and responsibilities.

Role relationships in Cloud Insights

Primary Roles


Role title [name]	Tasks and access rights
Cloud Insights Admin [sn_clin_core.insights_admin]	The role is in the Cloud Insights Core plugin. You typically assign the role to the person who is financially responsible. Contains the Insights Owner role and has all Insights Owner rights and capabilities. All rights of all other Cloud Insights roles. All rights of the PA Admin role. All rights of the [schedule_admin] role. All rights of the itil [itil] role. Define Business Hours and Unassigned Resourcespolicies. View spend optimization reports. Add report extensions. Perform the actions that Cloud Insights recommends.
Insights Owner [sn_clin_core.insights_owner]	The role is in the Cloud Insights Core plugin. The role spans only the Cloud Insights application. A Cloud Insights Admin can assign ownership of one or more service accounts and, optionally, the related CIs to users that have the Insights Owner role. An Insights Owner can define jobs and policies and can view data for owned service accounts. For more information, see Assign service accounts to an Insights Owner.
Cloud Insights User [sn_clin_core.insights_user]	The role is in the Cloud Insights Core plugin. The role spans only the Cloud Insights application. A Cloud Insights User can view theCloud Insights home page and analytics dashboards.

Cloud Integrations Admin [sn_cld_intg_core.cloud_integrations_admin]	The role is in the Cloud Integrations Core plugin. Configure Billing Download jobs and Price Sheet Download jobs. All rights of the API Integrator role. All rights of the [flow_operator] role. All rights of the [discovery_admin] role.
API Integrator [sn_cld_intg_core.api_integrator]	The role is in the Cloud Integrations Core plugin. Used by the MID Server to access REST endpoints that are related to the Cloud Integrations, Cloud Integrations AWS applications, and Cloud Integrations Azure applications.
PA Admin [pa_admin]	See Performance Analytics roles Performance Analytics roles.
Clotho Put [clotho_rest_put]	Role that is used by the MID Server to send the billing data to the instance and store the data in MetricBase / Clotho.
