Change conflict calendar

Change conflict calendar

The Change Conflict Calendar graphically represents the changes, blackout and maintenance window related to a change request and helps to visually display potential conflicts.

The Change Conflict Calendar supports configuration to control the display of related changes that are scheduled for the same date and time depending on the value of the Assigned to, Assignment Group, or Configuration item field. To view the calendar, click View Calendar in the header of the Change Request form.

Note: The View Calendar button appears in the header of the Change Request form once the Planned start date, Planned end date, and the Configuration item fields are populated and the record is saved. You must activate the Change Request Calendar (com.snc.change_request_calendar) plugin for the View Calendar button.

You can always navigate back to the Change Request form by clicking View Form on the calendar.

The Change Conflict Calendar, by default, displays the schedule of the change for the planned start day. To view details of a specific day, you can click the Calendar () icon at the upper left of the window and select a date. You can click Today to view change schedule of the current day or month. The left and the right arrow next to Today () helps you to navigate to the previous or the next day or month depending on the view type.

The calendar provides Day and Month views. You can combine the available functionalities to change the view of the calendar. For example, you can click to select a particular date and then select the Day or the Month view.

If you want to view the details of a change, click the change. A pop-up window appears with details of the change. You can modify the change start and end time by modifying the entries in the Planned start date and Planned end date in the pop-up window or by dragging the change to a new date and time and then clicking Save.

Under Configuration, if you select Assigned to, Assignment group, Configuration item, or Show all, all changes that have the same value for Assigned to, Assignment group, or Configuration item as that of the current change, appear under the Related Changes section.

The Related Changes section helps you detect other scheduled changes that potentially conflict with the in focus change based on a schedule or assignment. For example, if the same person is assigned to two or more changes at the same date and time, you can visually see this and update one of the scheduled changes, as appropriate.

Note:

You can change the scheduled planned start and end date of any change from the Change Request form under the Schedule tab.
