Create a work order from a project task

Link a work order to a project task by creating the work order and any related tasks directly from the Project Task form.

Before you begin

Role required: wm_initiator, wm_initiator_qualifier, or admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the desired Project Task form.
  2. Click the Create Work Order related link.
    Note: Only one active work order can be linked to a project task. If an active work order has already been linked, the related link changes to View Work Order.
    The work order is created and some of the fields on the Work Order form are updated with information from the project task, including the Short Description and the Location. The Planned start date and Planned end date for the project task become the Scheduled start and Estimated end dates for the work order.
  3. Fill in the fields on the Work Order form.

  4. Create a work order task by clicking New in the Work Order Tasks related list.
    The work order task is created and some of the fields on the Work Order Task form are updated with information from the project task, including the Location and the Window start and Window end dates.
  5. Fill in the fields on the Work Order Task form.
