Auto-assign tags to outside resources for AWS bulk tagging

Auto-assign tags to outside resources for AWS bulk tagging

Bulk tagging for AWS enables you to update the standard tag values for resources that were created outside of the ServiceNow instance. This process ensures consistent meaningful reporting.

Before you begin

Role required: cloud_admin

  1. Navigate to Amazon AWS Cloud > Managed Resources > Virtual Machine Instances.
  2. Select an instance and click Assign Standard Cloud Management Tags related link.

A table displays tag names populated from existing standard AWS Tags.

  3. Select the check boxes for the tags to assign values to and then enter or select a Tag value from the list.

The bulk tagging feature enforces the validation rules that are used to create tags.

  4. Click Assign Tags.

The AWS Resource Tags table is also populated with the tag name and values assigned by the bulk tagging feature.
