You can generate a client authentication and a code signing certificate in two ways. You can either generate and install user certificates or export active directory certificates.

A client authentication is used for authentication purposes in the Unattended Robot application. A code signing certificate is used for publishing an automation project from RPA Desktop Design Studio.

If you set the sn_rpa_fdn.code_signing_required system property to true in the RPA Hub scoped application, a code signing certificate is required while publishing an automation project. The code signing certificate is validated during the Unattended Robot and Attended Robot executions.
