The Vancouver release is no longer supported. As such, the product documentation and release notes are provided for informational purposes only, and will not be updated.
The ServiceNow® Flow Designer application enables process owners to automate work without having to code and to build multi-step flows from reusable components. Flow Designer was enhanced and updated in the Vancouver release.
Flow Designer highlights for the Vancouver release
- Create a flow by selecting components from a set of Generative AI recommendations.
- Add and configure subflows from the diagramming view.
- Use the new Dynamic Inputs data type to create arbitrary action inputs.
- Use the improved Flow Designer landing page to work with flows.
- Add and configure Do the following until flow logic in the diagramming view.

New in the Vancouver release
- Now Assist Recommendations
- Select the next component in your flow from a list of AI-generated recommendations. The system generates recommendations based on the current position in the flow and the flow component names listed before.
- Dynamic input support
- Use the new Dynamic Inputs data type to create arbitrary action inputs. Use data gathering actions to define a dynamic input type and to generate input data.
- Subflow support in diagramming view
- Add and configure subflows from the diagramming view.
- Do the following until support in diagramming view
- Add and configure Do the following until flow logic in the diagramming view.
- Flow generation
- Create multi-step flow outlines with generative AI. Flow outlines require configuration to add input values and data references.
- Stage support for subflows
- Add and configure stages to subflows.
UI changes
- Flow DesignerWorkflow Studio Landing page
- Use the updated Flow Designer landing page to resume working on your flows, see recently run items, and see recent updates to flows.
- Updated flow reporting levels
- Set the flow reporting level to off, basic, full, or trace. You can set flow reporting for an individual flow, subflow, or action, or you can set the reporting level for all items.

Flow Designer is a Now Platform feature that is active by default.
