The ServiceNow® Environmental, Social, and Governance Management application helps you to centrally manage all your environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. The ESG Management application also facilitates easier reporting on the progress that you make on your ESG initiatives.

Figure 1. ESG Management overview

ESG refers to the three pillars of interest for socially responsible investors: the environmental, social, and corporate governance. Socially responsible investors consider it important to incorporate their values into their investments instead of simply considering their profit. The ESG framework considers the impact of factors such as sustainability, equality, and so on in the investment decision-making process.

Most organizations must report how they integrate ESG commitments into their business strategies. There’s no defined exhaustive list of ESG initiatives. Some examples of ESG commitments are as follows:
  • Responsible procurement
  • Diversity, inclusion, and belonging at work
  • E-waste reduction
  • Reduced carbon footprint
