Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns release notes

New: Introducing a new pattern for 27 AWS services, which is disabled in the base system (out-of-the-box). The primary CI class for this pattern will be [cmdb_ci_cmp_resource], while all additional attributes are stored in a non-CMDB class. These attributes can be accessed via the Left Navigator Menu under Configuration and then AWS. - The IBM PowerHA Cluster (HACMP) pattern is fixed, this pattern respects the system properties glide.discovery.hostname.dns_nbt_trusted is set to true then pattern populate DNS trust name as Name field. (PRB1790297)
- The "F5 Load Balancer SSH" pattern is fixed to handle an error Cannot convert null to an object. Steps are added to remove duplicates and filter out empty records. (PRB1767558)

- The Azure - DNS Zone Recordsets (LP) Pattern is fixed to handle the error Illegal character in opaque part at index 6: https:\/\/management.azure.com:443\/.
- The Azure Application Gateway TD (LBS) Pattern collects the Private and Public IP address.
- Options for Windows Server 2019 and 2022 are added under the Windows Servers & Computers section in the Discovery configuration console, within the Discovery definition menu.
- GCP Event Job system log (info messages) with account numbers and credentials handle using system properties [sn_itom_pattern.log_gcp_event_job] set to true/false, in order to enable/disable the info messages.
- The Oracle Listener HD Pattern collects all Oracle DB on the host.
- The Pure Storage Pattern is fixed to establish relationships when detecting Fiber Channel.
- The SSHTerminalInteractiveCommand is initiating the expected "VMware vCenter" probes.

- The Linux server pattern populates the certificates' data from Java KeyStore. The "Collect Certificates" pattern extension is disabled by default.
- The Windows Server pattern populates the certificates' data from Java KeyStore and Windows certificate store. The pattern extension is disabled by default.
- The new system property, "sn_itom_pattern.k8s_run_k8s_cloud_discovery," prevents the automatic scheduling of cloud Kubernetes cluster discovery.
- The "Azure - Get Kubernetes Clusters" pattern creates a relationship between the Kubernetes cluster and the resource group.

- The "Oracle OCI - Autonomous DB (LP)" pattern enables the discovery of Autonomous Databases
- The "Tuxedo" pattern has been updated to ensure the accurate version is reflected in the "Tuxedo" table
- The "Next Generation Fortinet Network Firewall" pattern successfully populates the [serial_number] field
- In the "F5 BigIP LTM" pattern step, the "bigpipe.displayservicenames" value is configured to be set to "false"
- The "Linux Server" pattern extension, "UNIX Cluster - Linux Pacemaker Cluster", populates the cluster nodes, cluster resources, and cluster virtual IPs of the Linux Pacemaker cluster
- The "MSSQL DB On Windows" pattern extension, "Collect MSSQL Cluster Info - MSSQL Cluster", retrieves the MSSQL cluster IP address
- The "Scan Container Image" pattern supports the Trivy versions v0.44.0 or later.
- The "IBM HMC Server" pattern updates the name and status of the LPAR Instances
- The "Azure Application Gateway (LP)" pattern creates a relationship between the Resource Group and the Cloud Load Balancer
- To enhance the efficiency of the "Multi Paged Orchestrator" patterns and decrease both execution time and memory usage, a new column named "orchestrator_page" was introduced in the "Horizontal Paged Payload" table
- The "Collect Container Repository" extension is executed if the [cmdb_ci_container_repository] entry name is empty

- WebSphere Message Broker on UNIX pattern supports IBM App Connect Enterprise 11.

Google: Improved the security on the Google Credential User Interface page - Add an Access Control List restricting the user access to the appropriate role/user group.

Kubernetes and Pattern Library: Kubernetes WorkLoad Components: a mid-server property is added. When activated, Kubernetes Volume is populated and the Kubernetes WorkLoad Components are optimized.

Microsoft CA - Certificate Management Pattern: The [subject_organizational_unit] field is now populated with the expected value

- Red Hat Virtualization is an open, software-defined platform that virtualizes Linux and Microsoft Windows workloads. With the January content release, the CMDB gets visibility to the Red Hat datacenters, clusters, KVM hypervisors, virtual machines, and the lifecycle status.
Avi Vantage load balancer support
- The software-defined, scale-out architecture of Avi Vantage provides on-demand autoscaling of elastic load balancers. Leverage the Avi Vantage pattern to get visibility of Avi Vantage load balancer to construct in the CMDB and perform top-down mapping for the virtual IPs of the Avi load balancer.
Important information:
- During an upgrade to the New York release, the April 2019 (1.0.39) release of Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns is automatically installed for Discovery customers.
- Note: It may make the upgrade time longer depending on your CMDB size. To decrease the upgrade time, install the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns from ServiceNow Store before upgrading to the New York release.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Container Service (ECS) and Fargate:
- AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS) is a highly scalable, fast, container management service that makes it easy to run, stop, and manage Docker containers. AWS Fargate is a compute engine for Amazon ECS that allows AWS customers to run containers without having to manage servers or clusters. With the November content release, ServiceNow users get visibility for ECS clusters, ECS services, ECS task definitions, ECS tasks, Docker containers, and ECS container instances.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) generic inventory
- With the November content release, get visibility to all GCP services with a single pattern, which can collect inventory data on the deployed GCP services with tag information and share information into the CMDB. The allow listing of services based on the resource type can also help customers restrict the inflow of data into the CMDB.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) discovery changes: Visibility to GCP IaaS labels change the context-awareness of IaaS cloud objects discovered using GCP discovery. Version 1.0.49 also extends the event-driven discovery support for GCP load balancers.

New: Ability to discover Nutanix (Acropolis hypervisor and VMware ESX/ESXi) hyper-converged infrastructure. The new pattern collects information about critical Nutanix infrastructure elements and their dependencies from PRISM Central. Customers can get complete visibility of Nutanix clusters, hosts, virtual machine (VM) instances, VM tags, controller VMs, storage pools, and storage containers.

The minimum versions required are London Patch 8 or Madrid Patch 2.

IBM Cloud Discovery changes: Collect data on location and resource groups for configuration items (CIs) hosted on IBM Cloud.
AWS Cloud Discovery changes: Discover tags for AWS PaaS services hosted on AWS Cloud. This change helps to retrieve AWS PaaS services information from the ServiceNow CMDB based on tags. Discover AWS Cognito services using a dedicated pattern. Amazon Cognito provides authentication, authorization, and user management functions for AWS customers.
Azure Cloud Discovery changes: Use the new CMDB CI class [cmdb_ci_cmp_resource] for holding information on all allow listed services hosted on Azure Cloud. In the future, the same table will hold generic inventory data from AWS.
Google Cloud Discovery changes: Discover specific CIs hosted on Google Cloud based on events. This feature helps to write new real-time updates on Google cloud virtual machines, storage, network, firewall, and subnet data into the CMDB.
SAP System ID: Use the SAP system ID for ITSM incident or change management process. This feature is supported by a new CMDB CI class for storing SAP system IDs.
