How search works:
  • Punctuation and capital letters are ignored
  • Special characters like underscores (_) are removed
  • Known synonyms are applied
  • The most relevant topics (based on weighting and matching to search terms) are listed first in search results
Topics are ranked in search results by how closely they match your search terms
  • A match on the entire phrase you typed
  • A match on part of the phrase you typed
  • A match on ALL of the terms in the phrase you typed
  • A match on ANY of the terms in the phrase you typed

Note: Matches in titles are always highly ranked.

    Oracle Infrastructure report

Use the Oracle Infrastructure report to gain visibility into your Oracle infrastructure. This report includes information on the Oracle databases you are running, the physical servers and virtual machines supporting these databases, and the number of processor cores that must be licensed.

The SAM – Generate Data for Oracle Infrastructure Report scheduled job runs weekly to generate this data.

Note: The Oracle Infrastructure report is domain separated.
    Table 1. Oracle Infrastructure Report
    Column Description
Physical Server Name Name of the physical server that the product is installed on.
Virtual Server Name Name of the virtual machine that hosts the Oracle software.
Cluster Cluster the database is deployed on.
Virtualization/Partitioning Technology Technology used to create the virtual machine. If you didn't use virtualization or partitioning, leave the column blank.
DB Instance Name Name of the database instance installed on the server.
Environment Usage Type of environment the Oracle software is deployed.
    • Production
    • Test
    • Development
Options/Management Packs in Use Database options or Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) management packs being used.
Primary Database for Standby/Failover/DR/Backup Testing Name of the primary production database supported by standby, failover, DR, or backup testing.
Batching To/From Name of the server or application that sends or receives batches from the database. If batching isn’t used, the row is blank.
Source Database Name of the source database this database was duplicated from.
Duplicate Database Creation Date Date the duplicated database was created.
Product Version Version or release of the product.
Product License Allocated Edition of the database.
    • Enterprise
    • Standard
License Metric Allocated License metric the Oracle database is licensed with.
    • Per Processor
    • Named User Plus
Number of Licenses in Use Number of licenses in use for the Oracle database installation.
Customer Support Identifier (CSI) CSI associated with the applicable Oracle database licenses.
Restricted Use Name of the Oracle product, solution, or component using the license under restricted use terms.
Software Installation Data Date the software was installed.
Application Name Name of the application using the database.
Note: The application doesn't have to be an Oracle application.
Server Model Name of the server manufacturer and model.
Processor Model Name of the CPU manufacturer and model.
Processor (Sockets) Number of sockets occupied by physical processors. If hardware partitioning is used, this number is the number of occupied sockets allocated to the partition.
Core per Processor Number of physical cores in each processor.
Physical Cores Number of physical cores in the server. If hardware partitioning is used, this number is the number of physical cores allocated to the partition.
Threads per Core Number of virtual cores on each physical machine if multi-threading is enabled.
Core Factor Core factor for the hardware specification.
Licensable Cores Oracle cores that are licensable.

If the database is running on a cluster, the number of licensable cores is specified for the cluster and not each physical host or VM that is part of the cluster.

Note: Since the report shows all the physical and VMs in the cluster, the value is repeated for each row.

If the database is running on a physical machine with multiple VMs, then the number of licensable cores is specified for the physical machine.

Note: Since the report shows all the VMs running on the physical host, the value is repeated for each row.
Processor Speed (MHz) Speed of the physical processor.
Server Purchase Date Date the server was purchased.
Operating System Name of the operating system running on the server where the Oracle software is installed.
