Enable MFA for high privileged roles

Automatically enable and enforce MFA for users who have high privileged roles that you have access to.

    Before you begin

    Role required: admin

    About this task

All users designated with a high privileged role go through MFA before authenticating into the instance. This functionality also makes it easier to administrate MFA for many users based on their roles instead of enabling MFA for them at a per user level.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Multi-factor Authentication > Multi-factor Criteria.
    2. Select Role based multi-factor authentication.
    3. Check the Active box.
    4. Click Update to save.

When the user with the designated role logs in with their user name and password, they go through the setup for MFA.

    Example

    MFA active by role
