How search works:
  • Punctuation and capital letters are ignored
  • Special characters like underscores (_) are removed
  • Known synonyms are applied
  • The most relevant topics (based on weighting and matching to search terms) are listed first in search results
Topics are ranked in search results by how closely they match your search terms
  • A match on the entire phrase you typed
  • A match on part of the phrase you typed
  • A match on ALL of the terms in the phrase you typed
  • A match on ANY of the terms in the phrase you typed

Note: Matches in titles are always highly ranked.

    Quick actions

Use quick actions to give your users' access to commonly used functions directly from an applet launcher.

    Quick Actions

Use quick actions to give your users access to items or actions in your mobile apps. Quick actions appear under an icon at the bottom of the applet launcher page. This button remains on the bottom of the page regardless of where a user scrolls to remain easily accessible. Quick actions are best used for tasks users must perform regularly.

Quick actions can be used to open chat conversations, perform actions, make phone calls, and other commonly used tasks.

    Design considerations for quick actions
    • Limit quick actions to required or frequently used actions based on the purpose of your applet launcher.
    • Limit the number of quick actions available in an applet launcher to avoid a cluttered user experience. Remember that access to functions can be restricted with conditions, so your users only see the actions relevant to them.
    • Keep consistency regarding which actions you choose quick actions on your Applet Launchers.
Example of the quick action menu

    Creating quick actions

Quick actions are created using the same action functions you use elsewhere in the mobile environment. Creating a quick action requires the following steps:

    • Create an action function in Studio.
    • Create a function instance record. This record is created from the quick actions menu map list on your applet launcher form.

Watch this four minute video to learn how to add shortcuts, called quick actions, to applet launcher pages in the Now Mobile app.

For specific examples of how to create quick actions on your instance, see the following tutorials:
