How search works:
  • Punctuation and capital letters are ignored
  • Special characters like underscores (_) are removed
  • Known synonyms are applied
  • The most relevant topics (based on weighting and matching to search terms) are listed first in search results
Topics are ranked in search results by how closely they match your search terms
  • A match on the entire phrase you typed
  • A match on part of the phrase you typed
  • A match on ALL of the terms in the phrase you typed
  • A match on ANY of the terms in the phrase you typed

Note: Matches in titles are always highly ranked.

Understanding the Vendor Manager Workspace experience

The Vendor Manager Workspace application provides vendor managers with an integrated and graphically intuitive user experience to manage and monitor vendor performance and vendor-related information.

Vendor Manager Workspace is available as a separate subscription.

    Vendor Manager Workspace features

    Vendor Manager Workspace features include:
    • A single destination to manage vendor performance and validate that performance against the vendor contract.
    • Dashboards offer immediate access to vendor performance metrics, as well as who manages the vendor.
    • Comprehensive layout of all information related to a vendor and its services and contracts.
    • Aggregation and data compilation from multiple applications. Vendor Manager Workspace uses these qualitative and quantitative metrics to help you measure your overall vendor performance.
Vendor managers can access the workspace to perform their most common tasks, including:
    • Access the vendor directory to view vendors you personally manage, as well as view all vendors your company contracts with.
    • Select a vendor to access pertinent information, including the vendor profile performance metrics, associated service offerings, contracts, improvement initiatives, and SLA definitions.
    • View and monitor metrics for vendor performance score, vendor and customer satisfaction, availability, stability, breached SLAs, and more.
    • Drill deeper into each metric report to view trends and historical performance.
Administrators can configure the workspace according to the specific needs of vendor management within the organization:
    • Disable particular metrics from displaying in the workspace.
    • Configure the metric weights that contribute to the Vendor Score in the workspace.
    • Configure the metric thresholds for each vendor metric that appears in the workspace.

    Vendor Manager Workspace integrations

Increase the benefits of and complete your Vendor Manager Workspace experience by aligning with the following applications:
    • Service Portfolio Management and Service Owner Workspace. Learn how many active service offerings and unique service offering subscribers a vendor has to evaluate the business impact a vendor has on your company.
    • Continual Improvement Management. Track performance improvements or optimization initiatives by viewing the continual improvement initiatives a vendor is engaged in.
    • Contract Management. Discover how many active contracts a vendor has in order to evaluate the financial impact the vendor has on your company.
    • Service Level Management. Find out how many active SLA definitions a vendor has in order to monitor their service level agreements with your company.

    Browser support for workspaces

Do not use Internet Explorer 11 to access any workspaces. If you are on the New York release and you are using Internet Explorer 11 with any workspace, such as Service Owner Workspace, Vendor Manager Workspace, or any other type workspace, you must migrate to a modern browser before you upgrade to future releases. Internet Explorer 11 will not be supported for workspaces after the New York release. See KB0683275 for more information on Internet Explorer 11, and see Generally supported browsers for more information about browsers and what you can use across the platform.

    • Activate Vendor Manager Workspace

The Vendor Manager Workspace plugin (com.snc.vlm.vmw) is available as a separate subscription.

    • Domain separation in Vendor Manager Workspace

This is an overview of domain separation and Vendor Manager Workspace. Domain separation enables you to separate data, processes, and administrative tasks into logical groupings called domains. You can then control several aspects of this separation, including which users can see and access data.

    • Quick start tests for Vendor Manager Workspace

Validate that Vendor Manager Workspace still works after you make any configuration change such as apply an upgrade or develop an application. Copy and customize these quick start tests to pass when using your instance-specific data.

    • Create or modify a vendor in Vendor Manager Workspace

Add vendors to your existing vendor list or modify existing vendor-related information. Plan and define the information to collect and enter it to accomplish the vendor performance goals of your organization.

    • Create a vendor type in Vendor Manager Workspace

Create a vendor type to group vendors that offer similar goods and services. Vendor types are useful for reporting and comparing vendor performance. You can use the vendor types offered in the base system and add other types to meet your organizational needs.

    • Understanding Vendor Manager Workspace metrics

Vendor Manager Workspace includes a metric called the Vendor Score that gauges the overall performance health of the vendor. Understanding the Vendor Score requires knowledge of how the service offering metrics and Performance score from Service Portfolio Management align with Vendor Manager Workspace.

    • Generate the Vendor Satisfaction Assessment

Assess how satisfied your stakeholders are with the vendors they collaborate with. View the base-system pre-configured Vendor Satisfaction Assessment and decide to generate the assessment as is or modify it to best meet your needs.

    • Access and use Vendor Manager Workspace

Open the Vendor Manager Workspace to access and display all your vendors and vendor-related information, including associated service offerings, at a single location. Monitor and manage your vendors from the workspace.
