Send message from an Incident to Slack

Send Slack message from Incident to convey message directly to all the users whom you have added in the communication contact.

Before you begin

Role required: admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Self-Service > Incident > Communication Plan Definitions.
  2. Click the Incident Communication Plans related list.
  3. Open the communication task that has Slack as the mode of communication.
  4. Click the Send Updates related link
  5. In the Message field, type the message that you want to send to the contacts that you have already mentioned in the communication contact while defining the communication plan.
  6. Click Send.
    Note: A Slack channel is created whose name is the same as the incident communication plan number (example: ICP001001). All the users whom you have mentioned in the communication contact, get connected to the newly created slack channel. The users can communicate through the new channel.
