Run Discovery on an Azure service account

After you set up a service account, run Discovery to populate the datacenters that belong to the account.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_cmp.cloud_admin

About this task

Logical datacenters (LDCs) are the region-specific containers for virtual resources — "regions" in AWS and Azure, and "datacenters" in VMware. Discovery uses the information in the service account to identify all logical datacenters (LDCs) associated with your provider account.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Cloud Management > Service Accounts.
  2. Click the name of a service account and then click the Discover Datacenters related link.
  3. Wait for the Datacenter discovery status field to show a status of Complete. You should see this message if Discovery was successful: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS: Completed … Reload this form to see an updated datacenter list.
  4. Reload the form.

Result

The discovered datacenters appear in the Logical Datacenters related list.
Note: Check the Cloud API Trail and the Orchestration Trail if you encountered any issues with Discovery.
