ServiceNow® Embedded Help product enhancements and updates in the Kingston release.

Activation information

The following plugin is activated by default on new and upgraded Kingston instances.

Embedded help is only available with UI16.

New in the Kingston release

Apply domain separation to embedded help content
Specify the domain for your custom help content if your organization uses domain separation.
Use embedded help qualifiers
Create qualifiers and use them in embedded help content to customize the content for a common page in the instance. An example of a common page is home.do. For example, you can add a customized embedded help topic for the SLA homepage.
Embed video in an embedded help topic
Embed a link to video content in a custom embedded help topic. YouTube and Vimeo video content is supported.
Add or edit content from the embedded help pane
Add content directly from the embedded help pane when no help article is associated with the page. Administrators can also copy and customize or edit custom content that appears for a page from a link in the embedded help pane menu.

Changed in this release

  • Embedded help system properties: A module in the Embedded Help application provides access to embedded help system properties. The administrator no longer needs to search for applicable system properties in the System Properties [sys_properties] table.
  • html_sanitizer_config attribute: Available for the administrator to switch between the default sanitizer and the embedded help sanitizer. It can be applied to an HTML or HTML translated field. For a complete list of dictionary attributes and their descriptions, see Dictionary attributes.
