Configure a cloud policy rule

After you create a policy, configure as many rules as necessary. Rules are comprised of conditions and actions.

Before you begin

  • Role required: sn_cmp.cloud_governor
  • Configure a cloud policy.

About this task

You cannot edit rules for policies that are in the Published state. Click Edit to make the policy go into a draft mode. After making the required changes, publish the policy again.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Cloud Management > Cloud Admin Portal > Govern > Policies.
  2. Open a cloud policy.
  3. On the Rules related list, click New.
  4. On the Policy Rule form, enter a descriptive Name.
  5. Click Submit.
    To edit a policy rule, click Edit to make the policy go into a draft mode. After making the required changes, remember to publish the policy again.

What to do next

Configure an condition (optional) and at least one policy action (mandatory). The action is what is executed when the condition is met and the trigger for the policy occurs.
