Configure HR service mappings for an HR management system

Create or modify the HR service mappings to map the HR integration services to the appropriate HR web services for the inbound integration.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_hr_integrations.admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to HR Integrations > HR Service Mapping.
  2. Click New or open a record.
  3. Fill in the fields on the form.

    Field Description
    Name Name of the HR service mapping.
    Response content type Response content type of the HR service mapping: XML or JSON.
    HR external source Name of the third-party system.
    HR service Select one of the following:
    • (Outbound integration for HR management systems only) If you are using an HR service, the HR service to use with the HR service mapping. Otherwise, provide an HR integration outbound service to use in the HR integration outbound service field.
    • (Background check systems only) HR service to use with the HR service mapping.
    HR integration service (Inbound integration for HR management systems only) HR integration service to use with the HR service mapping.
    HR integration outbound service (Outbound integration for HR management systems only) If you are using an HR integration outbound service, the HR integration outbound service to use with the HR service mapping. Otherwise, provide an HR service to use in the HR service field.
    Active Check box to activate the HR integrations service mapping for use.
    Response root key Metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the appropriate root node. The children of the root node are recorded in the associated staging table.
    Response total results key Metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the total number of results in the XML or JSON response.
    Response has more data Additional metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the appropriate root node. The children of the root node are recorded in the associated staging table.
    Response page results key Metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the number of page results in the XML or JSON response.
    Response current page key Metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the number of the current page in the XML or JSON response.
    Response total pages key Metadata from the third-party system. Provide the XPath of the XML or the address of the JSON pointing to the total number of pages in the XML or JSON response.
    Outbound request type Outbound request type of the HR service mapping: SOAP or REST.
    • If you are using SOAP web services, you should have provided the credentials when configuring your source.
    • If you are using REST web services, you should have provided the credentials when configuring your HR web service. Alternatively, provide the authentication type and profile in the Authentication type and Basic auth profile fields.
    SOAP or REST outbound service SOAP or REST web service to use with the HR service mapping.
    SOAP or REST outbound service function SOAP or REST web service function to use with the HR service mapping. This function runs (except for the first time) when data is pulled from or pushed to the third-party system.
    SOAP or REST outbound service function all SOAP or REST web service function to be used with the HR service mapping. This function runs the first time that data is pulled from or pushed to the third-party system.
    Authentication type Authentication type of the REST web service. This field appears when REST is selected from Outbound request type.
    Basic auth profile Basic auth profile of the REST web service. This field appears when Basic is selected from Authentication type.
  4. Click Submit or Update.
