Create or modify a Service Activity

Create or modify a Service Activity

Service activities are tasks, notifications and reminders, or approvals associated with an HR Service.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_hr_core.admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to HR Services HR Administration > HR Services > HR Service Configuration.
  2. Click New or an existing HR service.
  3. Complete or edit the HR Service form. The Fulfillment type must be Service Activity.
  4. Click Save and the Service Activities section shows.
  5. Click New or an existing Service Activity to edit.
    OptionDescription
    Activity type Select the activity type associated with the service activity. The choices are:
    • Approval
    • Task
    • Child HR Service
    Child task template Appears when Task is selected from Activity type.
    Note: When setting up notifications or reminders, ensure the task template selected has the Set reminder box checked.
    Child HR service Appears when Child HR Service is selected from Activity type.

    Select an HR service to be a child of the HR service created or edited.

    Name Enter or edit a name that identifies the service activity.
    Missing any approver Appears when Approval is selected from Activity type.
    Select an action when any approver is missing on an HR activity.
    • Select replacements: Select a replacement for missing approvers.
    • Skip missing: Skip any missing approvals.
    • Close incomplete: Change the status to closed incomplete when missing approvers.
    Missing all approvers Appears when Approval is selected from Activity type.
    Select an action when all approvers are missing on an HR activity.
    • Select replacements: Select a replacement for missing approvers.
    • Close incomplete: Change the status to closed incomplete when missing approvers.
    Wait for Appears when Approval is selected from Activity type.
    Select an action when an approval is considered complete.
    • Anyone to approve: Only one person is required to approve the HR activity from the list of approvers.
    • Everyone to approve: The HR activity requires everyone on the approval list to approve. If one person rejects, the HR activity is rejected.
    • First response from anyone: The first approval or rejection determines the state of the HR activity.
    On rejection Appears when Approval is selected from Activity type.
    Select an action when the HR activity is rejected.
    • Allow resubmit of approvals: Allow the HR activity to be resubmitted for approval.
    • Close incomplete: Change the status to closed incomplete when HR activity is rejected.
    Approvers from case Select users from an HR case you want to approve the HR activity.
    Approver users Select any user to approve the HR activity.
    Approver groups Select a group to approve the HR activity.
    Child task template Appears when Task is selected from Activity type.

    Select the HR template to act as a child task template for the HR activity.

    Parent HR Service The name of HR service the service activity belongs to shows.
    Order The numeric sequence the task or the approval is available to the subject person when associated with an HR service.
    Note: The state of the task must be Closed Complete, Accepted, or Rejected before the next task or approval in sequence is made available. Service Activities with identical order numbers are made available at the same time.
  6. Click Save to save the service activity and remain on the Service Activity form. Click Submit to save the service activity and return to the HR Service form.
