Assign a role to a business service group

To let users access a business service group, you can assign the user role to the business service group.

Before you begin

This procedure is the last step for providing user access to business services. Make sure that you have completed other steps in the flow as described in User access to business services.

Role required: admin or sm_admin

About this task

In Service Mapping, the connection you create between the roles and the business service groups are referred to as responsibilities.


  1. Navigate to Service Mapping > Services > Service Group Responsibilities.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Business Service Group field, enter the name of the group.
  4. In the Role field, enter the name of the role.
    For example, sm_admin.
  5. Click Submit.
