Create and configure a form for a catalog item

After you design the deployment model and operations for a blueprint, you configure the appearance and functionality of the form that end users use to request a service catalog item.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_cmp.cloud_service_designer

About this task

You can create multiple forms for a blueprint.

Procedure

  1. While working in the blueprint designer, click the Operations tab and then click the Form tab.
  2. Click New, specify a unique and meaningful Name, and then specify the following values:
Blueprint The blueprint that is the basis of the catalog item.
Parent form behavior Select an optional form from which this form inherits the configuration.
Catalog item Name of the catalog item to generate.
Blueprint operation The operation, such as provision or deprovision, that the system performs when a user submits this form. Common operations:
    • Provision
    • Deprovision
    • Start
    • Stop
    • Cleanup
  3. Right-click the form header and select Save.
    These related lists appear:
    Field Description
Catalog Properties Fields that display fields on the catalog form, such as the cloud account and logical datacenter location. Users enter values or selection from a choice of values when they fill out the catalog item form. See Configure blueprint catalog properties for instructions.
Form UIGroups Sections on the catalog form. You can group fields into as many sections as you need. See Configure a blueprint UI group for instructions.
Events Events that occur on the catalog item form when the user is interacting with it. You can configure actions that take place when the event occurs. These events are available by default:
    • FormLoad: Event occurs when the catalog item form loads in the browser.
    • FieldChange: Event occurs when the user changes a field on the catalog item form. For example, if a user selects a value for a cloud account, you can configure an action to update the values of the logical datacenter field.

What to do next

After you add the UI group, properites, and rules for both events and properites, publish the item to the catalog.
