The budget console

The budget console is an interface that lets you view and manage budgets.

Budget console sections

Use the left pane of the budget console to select the financial model, the fiscal period, and the columns to appear on the right pane.

  • Model: Select the financial budget model.
  • From and To: Select the fiscal periods in the From and To choice lists.

    All the fiscal periods within the selected period are displayed.

  • Account Numbers: Select the account from the choice list.

    Each expense record is attached to an account name in the General Ledger Accounts table and the field filters by those account names.

  • Show Columns: Enable the necessary check boxes to see the respective columns in the right pane of the console.
  • Variance Columns: Enable the necessary check boxes to see the respective variance columns on the right pane.
    • Var Budgeted: Shows the difference between Actual and Budgeted.
    • Var Last Fcst: Shows the difference between Actual and Last Forecasted.
    • Var Open Fcst: Shows the difference between Actual and Open Forecasted.
  • Fiscal Units: Select the base unit for the fiscal period.
  • Expense type: Enable the Capital and/or Operating check boxes to display either both or one of them.

Tab Description
Review View data from budget forecasts.
Compare Compare budget details from different fiscal periods.
Plans See a list of all plans.
Actuals Summarizes the actual expenditure for a budget key in the fiscal period for the selected budget model

Currency options: Click the gear (The gear icon) icon and select a currency from the Currency choice list to switch over to any other listed currency from the default dollar.
