Assign a story to a project in Agile Development 2.0

Create projects or assign stories to the existing projects from product or release backlog. It creates the project backlog.

Before you begin

Role required: it_project_manager

Procedure

  1. Assign a story to a project using one of these options:
    OptionAction
    From the story backlog
    1. Select the story (or stories) in story backlog list that you want to assign to a project.
    2. Click Assign to project.
    From the release backlog
    1. Select the story (or stories) in release backlog list that you want to assign to a project.
    2. Click Assign to project.
  2. Choose Select an existing project to assign the selected stories to an existing project.
    1. Select a Project.
    2. Select an agile Phase of the project.
      Note:
      • The Phase field appears only if an agile phase exists for the project.
      • If there is no agile phase in the project, an agile phase is created in the project when the selected stories are assigned to the project.
  3. Choose Create a new project to create a new project with an agile phase and assign the selected stories to it.
    1. Enter a project name in the Project field.
    2. Select a Start date for the project.
  4. Click OK.

Result

The selected stories are:
  • assigned to the agile phase of the selected/created project.
  • added to the project backlog.

What to do next

Once stories are assigned to a project, the project stories can be assigned to one or more agile groups.
