The following components are installed with the Project application.

Demo data is available with project management and provides sample projects, portfolios, and tasks.

Project properties

You need the project_manager role to access the Project properties. Navigate to Project > Settings > Preferences to configure the following properties.

Enable firing of Business Rules on save from Planning Console. This property has no impact in deferred save mode and in deferred save mode the Business Rules never get fired. (com.snc.project.fire_brs_from_planning_console) If set to true, the project planning console triggers business rules when the State field on the Project form is changed. If set to false, the State field is not editable.
Note: Reload the console if you make changes to this property.
Calculate ROI percentage based on a project's estimated cost and its net value (com.snc.project.calculate_roi) If set to true, this property calculate the return on investment using the (net value/estimated cost) x 100 formula. This fields is only available from the Advanced view of the Project form. true
Enable project cost rollup (estimated and actual) - updating the cost of a project task will update the cost of its parent (com.snc.project.rollup.cost) If set to true, this property updates the cost of a parent project task if the cost of the child task is updated. false
Roll up project start date from tasks (com.snc.project.rollup_project_start_date) If set to true, this property shifts the project planned start date earlier or later based the earliest task. Disable this property if you want the project planned start date to remain the same despite the start date of the earliest task. true
Automatically close project milestone tasks when they change to work state (com.snc.project.auto_close_milestones) If set to true, this property closes milestones automatically so you do not have to close them manually. false
Retain start on constraint on tasks after adding relations (com.snc.project.allow_start_on_relations) If set to true, this property keeps a task's Start on selection even after you put the task in a relation to another task, for example, FS relation. false
Enable altering of planned date(s) for task in WIP/Closed (com.snc.project.enable_alter_of_planned_dates) If set to true, this property allows you to change the planned start date for tasks even if they are in the Work in progress state or any of the closed states.. false

Baseline Item [planned_task_baseline_item] All tasks that are part of baselines.

The following plugins are activated along with the project management if they are not already active.

Cost Management [cost.snc.cost_management] Enables the definition and tracking of configuration item costs. Uses rate cards with CIs, contracts, and projects.
Process Flow Formatter [com.snc.process_flow_formatter] Displays the different stages in a linear process flow across the top of a record.
Skills Management [com.snc.skills_management] Enables an administrator to assign configured competencies, called skills, to groups or individual users.
Timeline Visualization [com.snc.timeline_visualization] Enables graphical representation of activities over time.
Time card management [com.snc.time_card] Enables the creation of linear timelines for any activity that is bounded by two dates, such as the actual start and end dates on a project task.

Schedules Description
Project Management Schedule The default schedule for all new projects, which is Monday to Friday 8 A,M. to 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. (for a total of 8 hours), not including weekends.
Default MS Project The default schedule for projects that you import from Microsoft Project. The schedule is Monday to Friday 8 A,M. to 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. (for a total of 8 hours), not including weekends.
