Generate an Amazon Resource Optimization report

Amazon Resource Optimization reports list metrics only for resources that you can access from the My Amazon Assets and My Team's Amazon Assets portals.

Before you begin

Role required:
  • Users with the aws_admin or cloud_admin role can configure, execute and view reports.
  • Users with the ec2_operator, cloud_operator, aws_user, or cloud_user role can view reports.

About this task

You can view resource optimization reports on the following dashboards:

  • Cloud Admin Portal
  • My Amazon Assets
  • My Team's Amazon Assets
Note: The dashboards show only current records. To view older data, modify the gauge to show a previously executed report.

To generate reports on-demand:

Navigate to Amazon AWS Cloud > Administration > Resource Optimization Rules and click Generate Report.

The system performs the calculations and generates the latest reports. The reports are saved in the Resource Optimization Report table with the last executed report time. After a report is generated, the latest rows are marked with Current=true and all prior records are updated to Current=false.
